Here\u2019s what happens:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All Production Order components are immediately flushed out from stock, and consumption is posted.<\/li>\n<li>Consumption entries are created, and the related material cost is assigned to the Production Order.<\/li>\n<li>All operations of the routing are posted automatically with standard run time and setup time, if any.<\/li>\n<li>The output quantity of the Production Order item is credited to stock.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Backward Flushing<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Backward Flushing can be complete or linked to routing operations.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Complete Backward Flushing<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Backward Flushing happens when the status of a Released Production Order is changed to Finished:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All Production Order components are flushed out from stock, and consumption is posted.<\/li>\n<li>Consumption entries are created, and the related material cost is assigned to the Production Order.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Backward Flushing with Routing Link<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/business-central\/production-how-to-flush-components-according-to-operation-output\"><strong>Business Central<\/strong><\/a> provides a concept of Routing Link, which links BOM items to related routing operations. This is useful for organizations with lengthy production order execution periods.
