Overview
Founded in 1957, Sheng Hung is a historic, ISO-certified manufacturing enterprise with over 60 years of steady innovation and quality management. As manufacturing supply chains and work models changed rapidly, the enterprise’s original on-premises system needed an upgrade. The company needed to extend existing ERP assets while supporting more flexible post-pandemic work models.
The Challenge
Sheng Hung's legacy platform posed massive operational roadblocks to modernization.
- System End-of-Life: The on-premises version was no longer updated by Microsoft, so system upgrade planning was needed.
- Information Silos: Inventory/sales/purchasing and finance were not using the same system, making real-time information unavailable.
- Rigid Work Models: The pandemic changed traditional supply chains and work models, and personnel could not always enter fixed workplaces.
Solution & Implementation
To successfully modernize, the enterprise selected Tectura, drawing on our experience with NAV to Business Central technical upgrades and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Conducting a NAV to Business Central technical upgrade, extending the existing ERP foundation while meeting new needs.
- Integrating purchasing, sales, finance, and production on one platform.
- Supporting mobile devices so users could work from different locations.
- Improving data timeliness so managers could understand operational information more quickly.
Results & Impact
Sheng Hung upgraded to Business Central because its on-premises NAV version was no longer updated by Microsoft and inventory/sales/purchasing and finance were not operating in the same system. The new platform integrated purchasing, sales, finance, and production processes while supporting users working from different locations.
For manufacturing companies still using older NAV versions, upgrading to Business Central is not just a version update. It is an opportunity to reintegrate processes, improve data timeliness, and support flexible work models. This case shows how manufacturing ERP upgrades can address both system lifecycle and operational efficiency issues.
